Home to Mark Twain and the famous Jumping
Frog Jubilee, Calaveras County is filled with quaint historic Gold Rush
towns, wineries, and acres of scenic beauty. Calaveras County is blessed
with an almost perfect climate, giant Sequoias,
caverns, lakes and rivers, which make it a worthy tourist destination.
It is said in Calaveras County $500 million
in gold was removed during the Gold Rush. The largest nugget ever
found in the Western Hemisphere came from the Comstock Claim at Carson
Hill.
Big Trees State Park was been attracting
visitors for over one hundred years. Sequoia gigantea are not as tall
as the coastal redwoods; however, the trunks are approximately twice
the size of the coastal trees. Calaveras County boasts three caverns:
Mercer, Moaning and California, all offering guided tours, and an
abundance of outdoor recreation such as white water rafting, houseboating,
hiking, bicycling and skiing are within an easy drive.
Calaveras wineries are attracting national
and international interest because of the fine quality wines produced
by local vintners. Enjoy scenic tours and carriage rides through the
wine country.
To help you plan for your visit, we have divided the Gold Country
into five sections:
Angels Camp — Enjoy a stroll
down Main Street and shop in historic buildings, play golf or go fishing
and boating at the New Melones Reservoir.
Arnold — Arnold is both well known
for wild, uncrowded skiing adventures and the world-renowned Stanislaus
National Forest and Calaveras Big Trees State Park.
Bear Valley — Visit Bear Valley
and you’ll experience every season at its best from colorful springs
and cool summers to dramatic fall foliage and picture-postcard winter
scenes.
Copperopolis — In the 1860’s,
19 million pounds of copper was mined here. Mining sites and other historical
artifacts can still be seen alongside restored buildings.
Murphys — Take the time to enjoy
gorgeous Main Street lined with elm trees and original buildings, where
you can shop in unique gift shops, dine at elegant restaurants, visit
the museum, or pan for gold.

We emphasize a high degree of customer satisfaction. It is our belief that our vacation rental properties are some of the nicest choices in the area and we work only with owners who take pride in their properties. These are individually owned homes, which are being made available to the public. They are not perfect "cookie-cutter" motel rooms with those little bars of soap. Each is unique, and we find that most renters will try several while locating the ideal one they will use time and again. While we strive to satisfy everyone's needs, please remember that you are a guest in someone's home and just like in your home, you may find a few "honey-dos" still in progress. The best part about these homes is their character. Call us at 1-209-795-1662
