Once called “Queen of the Sierra,” the town of Murphys is a Gold Country hamlet that shipped over $15 million in gold between 1850 and 1860.

Take the time to enjoy strolling along Main Street, lined with elm trees, cobblestone sidewalks and beautifully preserved historic Buildings. Browse and shop in unique gift and clothing boutiques as well as fine art galleries. Murphys is home to 22 winery tasting rooms, 18 restaurants and a myriad of unique gift shops, clothing boutiques and galleries.

Established in 1973, Stevenot Winery has been at the forefront of premium wine production in Calaveras County for well over three generations, presenting world-class wines from the California Sierra foothills.

Some say that Val du Vino and Allegorie Tasting Rooms offer the most highly rated wine tasting experience in Calaveras County. The only working wine making facility on Main Street in Murphys, the (no cost) wine club offers duel citizenship between their tasting rooms, plus wine discounts, gourmet dinner events by French Chef Jeannine Hebel and art themed parties at the Allegorie gallery.

At Bunting Winery taste scruptious Rhone-style wines seven days a week. The estate-grown grapes are grown locally where the climate is perfect for fun, drinkable reds and crisp, refreshing white wines.

Murphys Pub Pourhouse is a tap room and deli including some of the motherlode’s  finest craft beer bottles available in-house and to-go. Delicious beer, great food, knowledgeable and friendly owner.  It doesn’t get any better than this!
